Education Policy

Education is the process by which people acquire knowledge, skills, practices, ideas, morals, emotions, beliefs, and interpersonal relationships. Education includes teaching, coaching, research and subject matter expertise, as well as the process by which people understand why they learn. Educational systems may be based on traditional liberal arts models such as liberal arts education, technical or career education, the university model, individualized education, developmental or integrative education, and other educational approaches such as Montessori, Waldorf, liberal arts and professional training education. Education also includes various aspects of learning such as communication skills, physical education, social studies, behavioral science, assessment, knowledge construction, time, and organizational skills.

Education in the field of education is a very complex undertaking. It involves research, practice, assessment, and change implementation. Education is also related to policies, institutional arrangements, practice, evaluation, and educational theory and methodology. The development of an education system requires sufficient financial resources, professional experience, and dedication to ensure that goals are successfully achieved. It is also important for teachers to ensure effective and efficient implementation of policies and reforms. An Education sector consists of various types of institutions such as public, private, Catholic, independent, and proprietary colleges, universities, and colleges offering distance education programs.

An Education policy decides the objectives and procedures related to the education system and its various components. It is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the present situation, circumstances, and available resources to determine what changes are required. An Education policy may cover all or some of the following aspects: recruitment of teachers, professional standards for their training and qualifications, maintenance of a school environment, teaching materials and instructional methods, utilization of technology in the school environment, academic and professional competency development, curriculum reform, establishment of minimum educational standards, establishment of guidelines for schools within a community, parental involvement, and provision of students with a quality education. An Education policy has to contain provisions addressing the provision of children with a disability and appropriate accommodation for parents. A provision concerning the provision of children with a disability requiring special needs will have to be included in the Education policy. In addition, a provision addressing the provision of students with special needs requiring special assistance in their access to books, equipment, and services on campus may be included in the Education policy.
